The Biju Patnaik University of Technology
The school known as Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela was founded through the act of the Odisha state legislature which took place on November 2002. This is considered as the state technical university of Odisha. The courses they offer are of wide variety. Although almost all the engineering, pharmacy, architecture, and most of the colleges offering B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, B.Pharm, M.Pharma and B.Arch degree platforms are both constituent or affiliated colleges of BPUT. The university caters about 58,000 students through its 110 constituent and affiliated colleges as of recent year 2015. The university is now operational in a new campus which is located at Kalinga Vihar, Rourkela which is located about 7 km from the Rourkela railway station situated in Odisha, India.
The city of Rourkela is well linked by road and railway with Bhubaneswar, sambalpur, Kolkata, Mumbai and other cities found in India. The nearest airport can be identifies as the ones in Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. Only five colleges were present when Biju Patnaik University of Technology was founded, they are known as Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang (founded on 1982), Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Buria (founded on 1956), College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (founded on 1981), Odisha School of Mining Engineering which was later retitled as Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar (founded on 1956) and Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar (founded on 1968); they were there under the state government of Odisha and several other private engineering and management institutes were considered to be under Sambalpur University, which is found in Odisha. In 2009, Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur, International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar and Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi were added to the list of government colleges for ignou date sheet. The University has more than 110 colleges, both constituent and affiliated, with around 58,000 students. The disciplines include engineering and architecture, business management and hotel management, computer studies and pharmacy. Several of these offer both undergraduate and post graduate studies.
The Biju Patnaik University of Technology for bput results is recognized to have two campuses, the first is located at Bhubaneswar and the second one is located at Chhend, Rourkela. The Bhubaneswar campus is found in Pokhariput which is near Khandagiri. This campus is where examination associated works are done and also all administrative work is done here. The Chhend Campus, Rourkela is the main campus of BPUT. Almost all administrative work, foundation day celebration and convocations are conducted here.
